This course teaches students to design characters that aren’t just cool-looking, but emotionally and narratively alive. From silhouette to costume, from body language to expression — you'll learn how to craft characters who tell a story through every detail. It’s a blend of anatomy, psychology, and creative freedom.
Course Structure
Month 1 :
Understanding Form & Gesture:
We begin by learning how to draw the human figure in a way that feels dynamic and readable. Students break down the body into simple shapes and learn to control gesture, weight, and proportion. We’ll explore how body types, stances, and movement already tell a story before a character says a word.
Month 2 :
Personality, Expression & Costume:
This month, we add personality. You’ll learn to design costumes that speak of culture, era, and role — and expressions that hint at inner world and emotion. We look at how to reflect character traits visually, with exercises that push you to explore archetypes, quirks, and even backstory through design.
Month 3 :
Creating a Complete Character Sheet:In the final month, you’ll build a full, polished character sheet that includes turnarounds, expressions, callouts, and a hero pose. This is where everything you’ve learned comes together — your anatomy, personality work, and storytelling skills — into a finished character that could walk into any game or film tomorrow.
