Long-Term Concept Art Program is an intensive 13-week (3-month) training program.
Develop the advanced character design skills used by professionals across games, animation, and entertainment media. Throughout this 13-week mentorship, students learn how to move beyond drawing characters and begin designing them with purpose, personality, and strong visual storytelling.
Master essential techniques such as anatomy construction, stylization, shape language, silhouette design, costume development, facial expressions, prop design, and character presentation. Through guided exercises and production-focused projects, students learn how to create characters that are both visually appealing and narratively compelling.
Regular mentor feedback, design critiques, and personalized guidance help students refine their artistic strengths while identifying areas for improvement. As the course progresses, each project introduces new challenges and more advanced design considerations, allowing students to steadily build confidence and develop a professional design process using Photoshop and Procreate.
Rather than creating disconnected studies, students complete three major character design projects that reflect real-world creative workflows. From developing expressive bust concepts and fully realized character designs to building a complete lineup of interconnected characters, each project is designed to strengthen a different aspect of character creation while contributing directly to a portfolio-ready body of work.
Great character design goes beyond anatomy and rendering, it is about creating individuals that feel believable, memorable, and instantly recognizable. Throughout this 13-week mentorship, students will learn how professional artists transform simple ideas into compelling characters through strong design choices, visual storytelling, and thoughtful iteration.
The course is divided into three major projects that mirror the growth of a character designer. Students begin by exploring anatomy, proportions, facial features, expressions, and stylization before developing a polished bust character that focuses on personality and appeal. Once these foundations are established, they move on to designing a complete full-body character, learning how costume design, props, accessories, and body language can communicate a character's history, occupation, and role within a world.
The final stage of the mentorship shifts from designing a single character to building an entire cast. Students will create a lineup of three to five characters while learning how to establish visual hierarchy, maintain design consistency, and create meaningful variation across different personalities and archetypes. Special attention is given to silhouette design, shape language, and ensuring each character remains distinct while belonging to the same universe.
Through live demonstrations, weekly assignments, personalized feedback, and one-on-one mentorship, students will develop both artistic confidence and professional design thinking. By the end of the program, they will have produced three portfolio-ready projects that showcase their ability to design characters for games, animation, comics, and entertainment media.

The first month focuses on building strong character design fundamentals while developing a memorable bust character. Students will learn anatomy, facial construction, proportions, gesture, shape language, and stylization techniques used across games, animation, and film. Through exploration of different art styles, expressions, hairstyles, and costume elements, they'll create a polished bust design that communicates personality, story, and visual appeal. This phase establishes the artistic foundation needed to create professional-quality character concepts.
Building upon the previous month's design, students will expand their character into a complete full-body concept. The focus shifts toward costume design, body language, props, accessories, and visual storytelling through design choices. Students will learn how to balance functionality and aesthetics while considering a character's occupation, background, and role within a larger world. By the end of the month, each student will have a fully realized character sheet complete with detailed prop designs and presentation-ready artwork.
The final month challenges students to think beyond a single character and design an entire cast. Using the principles of visual hierarchy, shape variation, and storytelling, students will create a lineup of three to five original characters that belong to the same universe. Emphasis will be placed on creating distinct silhouettes, personalities, and roles while maintaining a cohesive artistic direction across the group. Through research, ideation, and iterative design development, students will complete a portfolio-ready character lineup that demonstrates their ability to design engaging casts for games, animation, and entertainment media.
